On Oct. 11th The Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) assisted 56 Willacy County residents in applying for a telecommunications device. The Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) helps people who have a disability that interferes with their access to telephone networks purchase basic specialized assistive equipment or services. Sandra Benavides and Rose Ramirez, Resource Specialists, assisted residents with their applications. If approved, residents will receive their devices after a few months.
